The Coaches were kind enough to loan us the jerseys to use as decoration and gave us a chance to Showcase each sport on a table top! The stuffed jerseys also provided height to the table tops. ( The only items I purchased were wrapping paper, scrapbook paper, and spray paint.) The soda bottles were donated as were the trophies. We repurposed the WC flags from a previous year.

Show Me How 2: Add a Smile with Sprinkles

Oreo Cookie Lollipops

Sprinkles and Smiles

Sprinkles and Smiles

Let me “Show You” a quick snack that is a winner with my grandkids. I love to have my grandkids over to make things, either a craft or something fun to eat. On Wednesday nights we go to KSG at Crestview in Midland where they enjoy crafts, bible study, and snacks! The kids take turns bringing the snacks, and this past Wednesday it was their Emma, Ethan, and Noah’s turn.

Of course we cannot just take a pre-packaged snack, the kids want to create something! (I wonder where they get that?) They start pulling out the Sprinkles and here we go!

What you will need:

Candy melts, cookies and sprinkles

Candy melts, cookies and sprinkles

You’ll also need lollipop sticks or craft sticks.

Show me Decorating tip: keep candy melts and sprinkles on hand for a quick and easy food/craft project and everyone is happy!

Set up your supplies and get ready for fun

Set up your supplies and get ready for fun and smiles!

You can always adjust the color of the candy melts or sprinkles if you have a holiday or special event to celebrate. On this occasion we went with spring colors and Easter cello bags for packaging. There are a lot of great ideas on Pinterest for homemade snacks! Check out Craft-O-Maniac  and Eugenie Kitchen.

We used Oreos (double stuffed) and craft sticks to create cookie lollipops. I thought I had the lollipop sticks but Rebecca had used them in making cake pops! So we improvised with the craft sticks.

Noah (3yrs) loves to do it too!

Noah (3yrs) loves to do it too!

We started by separating the cookies, dipping the stick in the candy melt, placing it on the white filling and putting the cookie back together. Allow the cookie to set before dipping and decorating with sprinkles.

Follow the instructions on the candy melt packaging. Then let the kids dip and decorate! (Be careful the mixture is hot!)

Show Me Decorating Door Decor!

I love to re-purpose, re-use and recycle my holiday decorations. My Christmas doorway this year was a Red and white color story, complete with Santa faces and candy canes. After Christmas I removed the Santa faces and Candy canes (they were wired on) and stored them away with Christmas. I left everything on on my green pine garland that is attached to permanent screws around my doorway. Red and white ribbon, a white sparkle garland and all the assortment of red, white and red and white patterned balls.

Valentines is a favorite holiday celebration for me. Probably because I Love, love, love RED, and my birthday is February 12th. I love to throw a party for myself and decorate for valentines day! My next favorite color (or color combo ) is Black and white! I have collected serving platters in black and white to use for many celebrations! So it was only natural for me to add Black and white in with valentines day!

I collected my new wooden conversation hearts from Adams and Company and my stash of Black and white polka dot ribbon ( Love polka dots too!) and transformed my Christmas garland into my Valentine Doorway! Love is in the air!

Show Me Your Christmas Cards

Show me your Christmas card and I will show you mine!

For years I have sent out Christmas cards to family and friends. It always included a picture, sometimes a collage of pictures and possibly a short update or letter about our family.

I also receive many cards and photos and love to decorate with them during the season. However when Christmas has come and gone I can never bring myself to throw them away. I would bundle the year together and place in a box or closet somewhere, tucked away. That is until a friend Krisann Blair (Organizing Christmas ) shared her idea of hole punching the cards and using binder rings to create a book.

Finishing touch, add a touch of ribbon tied to binder ring!

I decided with all the different size cards and letters I would put a hole punch in the top corner and place on the ring. I also added a  length of ribbon for a finishing touch. We all enjoyed looking through the past years and how everyone has grownup, gotten taller or shorter, slimmer or ….well you know! It is fun to enjoy our family and friends through their pictures and letters and I am excited to see how many more stacks I locate from past years as I clean out and reorganize for 2014. Now I have a way to keep them organized and out on display.

Supplies:

Christmas Cards

hole punch

binder ring

piece of wired ribbon (I keep ribbon from all my Christmas gifts!)

So now you too can Show off your family and friends Christmas cards and greetings!
