Have you downloaded our Bow App? It will show you how to tie a beautiful bow that you can add to so many things!

For Wreathes, we love to use a Clover Bow and layer it with several ribbons.

Choose a wired ribbon and practice until you love it! Shape the bow out and wire it into the wreath.

Show Me How to Make a Fiesta Wreath

Fiesta Wreath Ingredients

Fiesta in San Antonio begins this year on April 10th. Fiesta is an annual Spring celebration that  started in 1891 when a group of citizens decided to honor the heroes of the Alamo and Battle of San Jacinto with a Battle of Flowers.
The first parade had horse-drawn carriages, bicycles decorated with fresh flowers and floats carrying children dressed as flowers. The participants pelted each other with blossoms. It is the largest celebration in San Antonio and includes many parades(River , Flambeau, & Battle of Flowers) festivals(Oyster Bake & King Williams Fair), NIOSA, and a city wide holiday for Battle of Flowers Parade.

To decorate homes, people add Fiesta wreathes to their front door with lots of ribbon, flowers, in bright colors.

What makes for a fabulous seasonal wreath?

1.Quality Ingredients- start with a good base. A wreath with sturdy branches/arms that will hold it’s form when you shape it. Choose colorful focal points to set the theme for your wreath, Wired ribbon in several widths, & Florals.

2. Decorate in a triangle

3. Decorate in layers and fill in spaces to your triangle as you go.

4. Step back & enjoy!

Think of your wreath as a triangle and place focal points and bow at each corner. Then fill in with flowers and half bows!

I love to re-purpose, re-use and recycle my holiday decorations. My Christmas doorway this year was a Red and white color story, complete with Santa faces and candy canes. After Christmas I removed the Santa faces and Candy canes (they were wired on) and stored them away with Christmas. I left everything on on my green pine garland that is attached to permanent screws around my doorway. Red and white ribbon, a white sparkle garland and all the assortment of red, white and red and white patterned balls.

Valentines is a favorite holiday celebration for me. Probably because I Love, love, love RED, and my birthday is February 12th. I love to throw a party for myself and decorate for valentines day! My next favorite color (or color combo ) is Black and white! I have collected serving platters in black and white to use for many celebrations! So it was only natural for me to add Black and white in with valentines day!

I collected my new wooden conversation hearts from Adams and Company and my stash of Black and white polka dot ribbon ( Love polka dots too!) and transformed my Christmas garland into my Valentine Doorway! Love is in the air!

My Christmas Pillow is the perfect size for a backdrop to my Target Heart pillow

I turned the pillow around to the blank backside.

Add polka dot ribbon and tie a shoe string bow, finished on top of the pillow

Tip: Ribbon is a quick  fix to a tired, out of season or plain pillow. It can easily dress up or add a holiday touch!

The inexpensive Fuzzy heart pillow pops against the white

This pillow was a great investment, this is the 2nd year for it to be a part of my Valentine Decor!

Lisa Frost heart is a great focal point on this grapevine wreath

This season Kathy and Becky were honored to host Mary Engelbreit and Mark Roberts for an event signing at Miss Cayce’s Christmas Store in Midland, Texas.

Several collectors won the invite to a “private” brunch before the event to meet and greet and have their favorite Mary Engelbreit and Mark Roberts collections signed.

Mary Engelbriet fans and admirers enjoying a magical brunch with the artist!

Alta Lynn hosted the brunch in her “Mary Engelbreit” inspired home!

Tip: Mary Engelbreit prints were framed in Dollar Tree black frames and hung on the garland as focal points.

Best friends, Tricia and Sheri (also huge Mary Engelbreit fans) prepared amazing delicious brunch dishes.

GeorgeAnn and our Show Me Decorating team decorated this home with a whimsical Mary Engelbreit inspired theme. Lots of touches of bold colors paired with black and white patterns of polka dots and Mary’s signature black and white check.

The table is set, complete with a “Vintage” Mary Engelbreit girl centerpiece.

Festivity and fun was inspired by Mark Robert’s fairies, elves and Santa’s and created Christmas magic in this holiday home.

Ribbon, one of the 3 Key ingredients, used in the Show Me Decorating Christmas Tree DIY steps. Try this easy “bow” to add to your Christmas Tree this year.

Two strips of ribbon are wired together to create our “Moustache” Bow!

Decide on your color story or theme for your Christmas tree and select ribbons to coordinate. Our theme is Christmas Gone Wild, using , animal print ribbon, red, gold and touch of lime green.

Determine your theme or color story

Pick your base: wreath, teardrop, ball wreath, grapevine etc. Keep in mind the size of your door, porch or entrance way for appropriate proportion.

Shape and Fluff your teardrop before decorating

Next add in a Show Me Decorating key ingredient, a floral spray. Use the wired greenery of the teardrop to twist over the floral spray to hold on

3 Gold glittered floral sprays were wired on (no glue needed)

The 2nd floral spray is added the same way, wiring on with the greenery branches.

Another Show Me Decorating key ingredient is used, Ribbon! Cuts lengths of each ribbon (approx.1yd) and place a wire in about the middle leaving one side a little longer.

Tie a coordinating bow. get the Show Me Decorating app, to learn to tie a bow.

An entry table is the perfect spot to showcase your seasonal decorating. Keep it simple and easy! Coordinate color story (orange black and white) and theme (Halloween)from the front door décor!

Entry Table is a great spot for seasonal decorating! It’s Halloween at my house!

Show Me Decorating Tip: Pick out a focal area to decorate seasonally, entry table, sofa table, top of the piano, island or bar in the kitchen, mantle, buffet, or dining table. Store your decorations in clear tubs, marked with the holiday! This makes it easy to pull out the Holiday decorations and fill with your everyday decor! Cute Little Monsters frame shows of the grandkids at Halloween.

Start with a glitter grass twister garland and Glitter ball garland.

Layer the two garlands together twisting wires to combine.

Add in a group of three! Frame shows off the grandkids, cute signs and Metal Pumpkin Boo!

Add in the finishing touch of Ribbon!

Wired ribbon adds the finishing touch, the icing on the cake the… well just add the ribbon!

Show Me a Halloween Mantel DIY

Mantels and fireplaces are great areas to decorate for the Holiday season!

Theme: Halloween, this years color story for Halloween is orange and black, with a pop of black and white!

This white-painted fireplace and mantle show off the Orange and Black used in Halloween decorating!

The heart of the home the fireplace is a great place to decorate for the Halloween season

A great base for the mantel decoration is a garland to work in and out of the Halloween decorations.

Start with a Twister grass garland and glitter ball garland.

Using two garlands twisted together is a great backdrop to the Halloween blocks, pumpkins and candle holder. I like to use a group of three.

Next add the finishing touch, ribbon.

3 ribbon patterns combined in a half bow are a great finishing touch to the mantel garland.

Make a loop of orange and black, and add a stripe black and white ribbon loop, secure with a floral wire, tie a strip of Black and White polka dot over the middle.

Wire the half bow ties into the garland, wire on the Polka Dot Bats and the Halloween mantle is complete!
