Ist Impression the " Invitation"

Did you realize the 1st impression of your party, celebration or shower is the invitation? It also sets the stage for the event, theme and color story.
What kind of 1st impression have you been making?

Paper goods coordinate with the invitation

This Bridal Shower was for a good friends daughter. She is quite the fashionista and has sophisticated taste and style. Her bridal color is Tiffany blue.
We chose to use the black and white because we have a collection of black and white serving pieces and wanted a standout look for this party!

Collecting our supplies

Now it’s time to pull in the brides color Tiffany blue, so we went in search of a table cloth……..all the usual places and then to the fabric store for material (several yards would work great) and searched and searched to no avail! However while shopping for curtains for another project the perfect color shows up! The material is beautiful so we purchased 2 panels to go home and play!
We chose a long black table-cloth to go on 1st and then layer the curtain panels on at an angle. ( TIP: know your table measurements before shopping)

Add interest by placing the curtain panels on an angel

The next step is to begin arranging  the serving pieces.  The time of the shower 11-1 pm dictated the menu as lunch.

arranging black and white serving pieces

While setting the table we decided on a more symmetrical layout because we had two identical tiered serving stands. We decided to serve mini sandwiches on one and mini deserts on the other. A large black and white striped bowl was filled with a fresh salad. A silver punch bowl with our sparkling ” mock Champagne” went next to the desserts while a clear glass decanter  filled with tea was next to the sandwiches.

Fresh flowers in all white add the final touch

Our favorite local florist “Flowerland” created a beautiful fresh all white floral arrangement in a clear black glass vase, and the flocked black candle stick with swirls tied the look together.
Our favorite super easy punch,
 “Mock Champagne”
1 – bottle White grape juice
2-bottles ginger ale
Serve very chilled!
Did we mention we had a mashed potatoes bar! Yum! Mashed potatoes (instant made with milk and real butter) and all our favorite toppings, grated cheese, butter, sour cream, bacon pieces, and chives! Clear cups were filled half way with potatoes and then guests chose their favorite toppings!
remember you only get one chance to make your 1st impression!
